The Gibbs Residence has all the detailing of a traditional log home, but it utilizes double wall construction and gasket seal between logs to make it more efficient. The residence also uses passive solar heating and cooling. The base and fireplace are made with river rock for added visual interest. The interior of the house has log accents throughout; from the stair treads to the log beams above.
