Living Area: 4,828 sqft
Total Area: 5,433 sqft
The arch was an important element in the Heske Residence. The arch appears in the opening for the covered deck and is mimicked in the windows and garage doors on the exterior of the house. On the interior, the arch is used to frame doorways and hall openings. Exposed trusses help bring the scale of the space down, where the arches are not present. The concept of the exposed trusses comes from an old timber warehouse turned into a loft. The interior walls don’t necessarily line up with the trusses creating interesting events where the two meet. Repetition of certain elements makes all the pieces of the house fit together cohesively.
