THE TRILLIUM HOUSE (2008)

The expansion of the City of Steamboat Springs Parks, Open Space & Recreation Department, made a conscious and successful effort to create an efficient and sustainable building. An on-site storm water infiltration system has been installed, and site imperviousness has been kept to a minimum. Elements of the existing structure were salvaged to the fullest extent; demolition materials that could not be re-used on site were recycled. Water conserving fixtures are specified, interior finishes are low-emitting and many materials with recycled-content are being installed. Dedicated recycling areas are placed throughout the building and every occupiable space is exposed to natural light and ventilation.
