The Mountain Fire Station was a renovation and addition to the existing fire station. The fire station exterior was updated and a new bay for a fire truck was added. The challenge for this project was making sure that the new addition added visual interest instead of making the façade a blank mass. The new addition made the fire station three stories tall (because of the room required for the trucks) creating a tall mass. To minimize the visual impact, larger windows were added in the bunkroom to make the addition seem smaller because of the relative scale.
