A site abutting Butcherknife creek creates a peaceful ambiance for this one bedroom accessory dwelling unit. The unit offers indoor-outdoor connectivity utilizing a multi slide door system located between the living area and the exterior covered patio.

Nestled in the heart of Old Town, the design challenge was to create a small, detached structure to serve as an on-site getaway as well as guest quarters for aging parents. MADG’s team succeeded in conceptualizing a structure that complimented an existing main house while adding a touch of contemporary design. The vegetated roof brings harmony to the creekside setting, while the covered patio and sliding glass wall create additional living space.  Concealed outdoor radiant heat elements and fireplace allow for year round enjoyment of this serene site.
